7 Instagram Accounts to Follow

Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to bring to you a list of my favorite environmentalist creators. I have been wanting to write this post for a very long time now as these creators have really played a big role in helping educate me about what’s going on in the environmentalism world. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1. Impact

Instagram: @impact

Impact is dedicated to providing its followers information about today’s most important topics. Their content covers many topics such as racism, politics, modern news, LGBTQ+ discrimination, and more, but they do occasionally create posts about environmental news. Even if you’re just here for the environment, I highly recommend checking out their other posts!

2. GoodGoodGoodco

As the name suggests, GoodGoodGoodco focuses on, well, good news! Their main account focuses on good news of all types, but they’ve recently created a new account, @goodgoodgoodclimate, for strictly good climate news. Be sure to follow these accounts if you're looking for a way to brighten up your day!

3. Everyday Climate Change

While not as widely known, this account vividly depicts the drastic effects of climate change. Their photos are complete game-changers!

4. Sierra Club

Instagram: @sierraclub

Sierra Club is a nationwide non-profit organization whose purposes, according to them, are to “explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.” They have relentlessly worked to improve our planet’s health. Follow them and/or join their cause to help out!

5. United Nations Environment Programme

Instagram: @unep

Website: www.unep.org

The United Nations Environment Programme is a section of the UN on a mission to “provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.” Their infographics, like the one attached above, are clean, and easy for all to understand. The work they do is awesome; be sure to follow them on their journey by becoming a member!

6. Greenpeace

Instagram: @greenpeace

Greenpeace is one of the largest nonprofits that deals with environmental issues out there. They’ve established themselves all over the world, not just the US, and work to bring concrete change for the earth. I’ve cited plenty of their articles in previous blog posts before; they are a very credible source. Their content, like the UNEP’s, is simple, but detailed. It’s the perfect way to get educated on the most pressing environmental issues of today.

7. World Wide Fund for Nature

Instagram: @wwf / @world_wildlife

Last, but most certainly not least, we have the WWF. While they mainly focus more on endangered species and their conservation, their mission is just as important as any other. They continuously provide easy ways to integrate more eco-friendly practices into your daily routine, along with keeping you updated on major events in the environmental world.

I hope you enjoyed this list! Please be sure to follow and/or support the amazing work of these creators/organizations. You never know, you might get inspired to join the cause and work towards a healthier earth!
