Sustainable Southbury is a 501(c)3 nonprofit environmental conservation organization. We focus on sustainable projects that promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, increasing clean energy use, and clean transportation to improve the quality of our air, land, water, and natural resources.
Our work involves assisting, advising, educating, and driving local action in our town, businesses and community.

Programs
Free coaching and assistance with saving energy in your home through energy assessments, financial incentives and rebates, information on heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, understanding electricity charges, solar energy, electric vehicles and chargers, and case studies.
Free education programs presented at a venue of your choice. Available topics include education on the effects of plastic chemicals on your health, ways to reduce your exposure to plastic chemicals, and recycling. Hold a monthly program on the 1st Sunday of every month to redeem in bulk your bottles and cans for cash.
Free education programs presented at a venue of your choice on how to reduce food waste, incorporate proper storage techniques, and save money. Food waste recycling is provided free of charge to Southbury residents at the Southbury Transfer Station.
Free assistance for businesses to help with their energy cost reduction, sustainable purchasing, food waste reduction, multi-stream recycling, cash for redeemable bottles and cans, and customized recommendations.
